What Patients Think About Robin McGuire

"we have gotten my shoulder back to “normal” "

I cannot say enough great things about Robin, she truly is the Best! I’ve seen a few PT’s in my life and I recognize an outstanding one when I see it. Robin impressed me with her expansive knowledge and the variety of exercises offered to help get my shoulder working. With her help, we have gotten my shoulder back to “normal” and I’ve decided to continue working with Robin for another mobility issue. I agree with other reviewers, she is a very kind and sweet soul. I’ve also referred her to 2 friends who are also very happy working with her. Highly Recommend Robin!

"Great place"

Great place I am using MTI after 12 years when I was first there for neck issues and now there for my hip and back. Great place and dedicated team.

"Thank you for all you do!"

When you find a good fit and someone you connect with in life, they become friends you want to have during your life long journey. That also applies in the medical field. Having found Robin after 20 years of different PTs all over the map for a variety of issues, Robin will be my Go-To-PT from now on, as I know through all activities I do and the aging process, I will need more PT in my life journey. The knowledge Robin has, the variety of helpful exercises she gives, her enthusiastic energy, and the joyful spirit she emits is super contagious and helpful for the recovery and healing process. My next injury, no doubt, I definitely know who to call. Thank you for all you do!

"enabled me to take on my activities and training pain free"

Prior to visiting Robin at MTI Physical Therapy, I had nagging ITB and knee pain that was chronic and having a negative impact on the quality of my nordic skiing, trail running and mountain biking. What really impressed me in visiting Robin at MTI was how thorough she was in taking the time to assess my situation and then prescribing highly tailored exercises that have now enabled me to take on my activities and training pain free. If you are looking for a physical therapist who is excellent at treating athletes, I highly recommend Robin at MTI.

"I’ve always been happy and would recommend MTI"

I’ve always been happy and would recommend MTI to anyone looking for a PT. Every PT I’ve worked with in MTI has been wonderful and I’ve always had a positive experience. Specifically for my running needs, finding Robin has been a true blessing. I cannot stop talking about her to my running friends! When I first came to see her I was having a nagging knee pain that had forced me to stop running and walk instead. That pain went from 8 to 4 in one session. I was blown away by her knack to find what the problem was in 10 minutes and fix it in the next 5. She gave me a couple of exercises and now the knee problem is no more. Other stuff has been popping here and there as she continues fixing my running form, but it’s been going smoothly and I trust that I can get as far as my dreams take me under her care. In addition to regular PT I decided to pay out of pocket to get the running evaluation. And I did that because I trust her. She made a plan as to what things we would start working first and we’ve been working on that. Robin has a talent; she just gets and understands running so well. I had never met anyone like her. I also appreciate that she has a conscise treatment plan that I can continue following, prioritizing exercises as we go. I’m sure I will continue seeing her for checkups even after I “graduate”. And to top it off, she’s so personable; it’s been so easy working with her.

About Robin McGuire

Robin discovered the healing power of Physical Therapy at the young age of fourteen after undergoing three hip surgeries and a knee surgery. The physical therapists who motivated her throughout her rehabilitation journey were integral in her decision to choose this meaningful vocation. Subsequently, she attended Seattle Pacific University and obtained  her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Human Biology in 2014, and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2018 from the University of New England.

In 2018, Robin joined MTI Physical Therapy and completed her Orthopedic Manual Therapy Residency in 2020 through the Ola Grimsby Institute (OGI). Robin continued on to participate in the OGI’s Manual Therapy Fellowship program, which she completed in 2021. Her focus is to keep pursuing opportunities to learn and develop a deeper understanding of the integrative nature of the human body. She is passionate about empowering her patients to understand pain and their body’s resilience and amazing capability to heal.

While she enjoys treating all ages and populations, she has a passion for treating running related injuries. Whether the goal is to run 1 mile or 100 miles, Robin loves helping runners improve performance by addressing movement impairments to make their running patterns more efficient and pain free. She offers running analysis and coaching through PTMotionLab, one of MTI’s partners, that involves treadmill video analysis with DorsaVi motion analysis sensors/software. Email Robin to schedule a running analysis appointment or learn more.

When not in the clinic, Robin enjoys trail running, hiking, backpacking/camping, playing piano, cooking, playing soccer, and creating community wherever she is living.
