Frequently asked questions:

We hope this list of frequently asked questions and answers will help address any questions you might have:

Q: How do I schedule an appointment?

A: We make scheduling easy by using a tool called PTEverywhere. Once you are in PTEverywhere, select one of our Pelvic Health PTs. Select the type of appointment you’re looking for (Pelvic Health Initial Assessment or Pelvic Health Treatment) and available appointment slots will appear on the calendar. Select the date and time that works best for your schedule. We look forward to meeting you soon!

Q: Do you always require an internal exam as part of your assessment?

A: An internal exam is not always required and is only done with your full consent. An internal exam does provide us with important additional information including, but not limited to, pelvic floor strength, tension and coordination. We always partner with you to determine what is the best and most comfortable way to assess your needs in a supportive environment.

Q: Can I bring my baby to my appointment?

A: Absolutely! We love babies and will work together with you to ensure that you are getting the most from your appointment, while still being available to meet your baby’s needs. If your baby is present, there are a lot of important observations that can be made pertaining to your body mechanics when holding, feeding or picking up your baby. We encourage you to do anything you need to take care of your baby during your appointment. Other family members or older children are welcome to sit quietly in our waiting area during your session. Please note that there are stairs leading up to our clinic, in the case you plan to bring a stroller.

Q: Why don’t you accept insurance?

A: We are out of network with all insurance companies including Medicare and Medicaid. This allows us to spend more time with you and doesn’t constrain the type of treatment we are able to provide, which is a benefit to you. We work with you to develop an individualized plan for your specific needs and are transparent about the total cost of your treatment plan.

Depending on your insurance, they may reimburse you for a portion of your visit fees. We can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company to request reimbursement. Please contact your insurance company to inquire about your out of network coverage.

Q: How often will I need to come in?

A: Each person is unique and we create a treatment plan based on your individualized needs. In most cases, you may be asked to come in one time per week for four weeks. At that point, a reassessment will be performed and your visit frequency will be adjusted depending on symptom improvement, goal achievement and your dedication to your at-home plan.

If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact the Pelvic Health & Performance Center’s Director, Dr. Julie Baron. We look forward to partnering with you on your road to recovery.
