Why Choose MTI?

Because we Can and we Care

We do things differently with proven success!

A dedicated visit delivered only by a physical therapist shouldn’t have made us different, but it did. MTI Physical Therapy is a company started by three physical therapists in 1998 with a vision of creating a practice that was unlike any other in healthcare. Ultimately, the concept was a simple one: attract the best minds in the industry, create a work environment that fosters optimal care, offer advanced training in orthopedic manual therapy with the best evidence and maintain a leading edge mentality within the profession. By pioneering the practice of 1:1 care where our physical therapists dedicate the entire 45-minute visit with one patient, compared to two patients per visit block more typically seen in our profession, we provide our highly trained and licensed therapists the time and tools to get it done. Today, over 20 years later, with six clinics, MTI has managed to do just that. Our 1:1 Care practice model has been recognized nationally, receiving the Ascend Practice of the Year Award from WebPT.

Quality and consistency of service are two highly prized attributes of any company and its employees. This is not only measured in patient satisfaction but in the comfort and trust that partnering physicians have in referring patients to us. Our referral sources know the high level of care that we provide, day-in and day-out. It may sound simple, but we have always believed physical therapy services should be provided by physical therapists. MTI Physical Therapy has never employed aides, assistants or trainers to deliver any part of our service. You should get what you pay for.

Our Physical Therapists Have Advanced Training!

It’s not enough to just have a physical therapist, rather than an assistant, delivering your care–we also believe you should have an expert. Manual therapy, orthopedics and sports therapy require additional specialization and advanced clinical training beyond simply graduating from physical therapy school. After graduation, most therapists choose an area of practice, taking additional seminar training to advance their clinical skills. Truly advanced clinical skills are acquired through longer post-graduate programs that involve didactic, as well as clinical mentorship. MTI Physical therapy was founded as a teaching clinic, partnering with some of the best therapists in the world to deliver this highly accredited postgraduate clinical training. Our employees are hired to complete post-graduate programs in OMPT and are actively teaching and mentoring current program participants throughout the world. Standards for clinical Residency and Fellowships have been set nationally by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), through the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE), the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT), and the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists (IFOMPT).

Our physical therapists elect to work at MTI and receive this advanced post-graduate degree and Fellowship in orthopedic manual therapy. These post-graduate programs involve one to three years of classroom and clinical residency while working in the clinic with a full-time caseload. Having advanced clinical training is not the norm in the industry but is part of our company culture. Our practice model of one-to-one care, having the therapist see only one patient for 45-minutes, allows for ample time for teaching, practice, and professional development. This pace of practice and availability of mentorship greatly accelerates the therapist’s skill set well beyond their years of training.

If you are being treated by an MTI physical therapist, you can be assured that you are in the care of a therapist committed to long-term professional education and development, providing the most advanced and evidence-based approach to orthopedic and sports physical therapy.
