What Patients Think About Matt Plantinga

"I find MTI’s therapists to be knowledgable, patient & easy to work with"

I find MTI’s therapists to be knowledgable, patient & easy to work with. You are also provided with a printout of your exercises & access to a personalized video of the exercises. And they take Medicare. I have been treated for recovery after knee replacement, after problems with my piriformas, for arthritis in my shoulder, and for prevention of injuries related to osteoporosis.

"MTI Physical Therapy offers excellent professional services"

MTI Physical Therapy offers excellent professional services with personal care. My physical therapist Matt embodied that professional and personal care for me during 4 months of PT.

"I’d give it five stars!"

MTI was very helpful! I’d give it five stars!

"My PT, Matt Plantinga, in Magnolia is the best person I have ever worked with"

My PT, Matt Plantinga, in Magnolia is the best person I have ever worked with (last 45 years). He is patient, listens, suggests and modifies as needed. At my age it takes longer to recover form everyday strains, pulls and tears. Matt is there every step of the way. Steve D.

"I have experienced a drastic improvement in my neck"

I went to Matt Plantinga at MTI Physical Therapy on referral from UW Sports Medicine for a persistent and painful stiff neck issue. I have experienced a drastic improvement in my neck in the few weeks I have been going to MTI. I would highly recommend Matt and MTI to any and everyone that has any bio-mechanical and pain-related issues that they are committed to addressing.

About Matt Plantinga

Matt received his Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology from Calvin University in 2017 and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis in 2020. During his undergraduate studies, Matt ran cross country and was also a track and field athlete. He moved to the Pacific NW in 2020 and joined the MTI Physical Therapy team in Magnolia in 2021. In 2023, he graduated from MTI Physical Therapy’s Sports Residency Program.

Matt has passions for both sports and orthopedics, hoping to tap into every person’s inner athlete. He has worked in both professional and collegiate sports in both physical therapy and strength and conditioning roles. As a result, he brings this experience and knowledge to his physical therapy practice, as well as offering personal training. He also serves as a Clinical and Field Mentor, as well as a Strength & Conditioning Adjunct Faculty Member, for MTI Physical Therapy’s Sports Residency program. Matt believes strongly in the power of human touch and that movement is medicine. He aims to be a guide on his patients’ journeys to understanding and developing their bodies to achieve their goals.

In his free time, Matt loves to move in any and every way possible. He is constantly seeking a challenge, a beautiful landscape, or a ball. Ideally, all three aspects would be involved.
