About Brian Matheson
Brian’s interest in physical therapy was piqued when he suffered a meniscus injury while working a full-time job as an undergraduate. He graduated from the University of Washington in 2012 and immediately embarked on the challenge of furthering his education by graduating from a residency and fellowship program through the Ola Grimsby Institute.
Since completing his fellowship, Brian has possessed a strong passion for education. He has provided clinical mentorship to residents, fellows-in-training, and physical therapy students both in a clinical setting, and in the classroom. This passion culminated in Brian helping to design and lead the clinical portion of the University of Washington’s Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency. Brian will also serve as part of the adjunct faculty for the satellite campus of Tufts University’s Physical Therapy Program with their inaugural class in 2024.
Brian’s interest in baseball has driven him to seek out further training in injury prevention and treatment for players. He has clinical experience treating professional and high-level amateur athletes in baseball, basketball, football, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, mixed martial arts, ballet, and Cirque de Soleil.
When not treating patients, Brian enjoys cooking, gardening, wood-working, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, reading, and photography. He is a lifelong Magnolia resident, where him and his wife raise their two children.
