What Patients Think About Kirsten Eivers

"now makes walking a pleasure"

MTI physical therapists look beyond the standard playbook of exercises too often used elsewhere to manage pain. My therapist, Kirsten, took the time to identify solutions that have resolved the deeper root causes of my hip pain, even consulting with an orthotics expert that resulted in a custom brace that now makes walking a pleasure. I couldn’t be more grateful.

"I highly recommend MTI"

I have been going to MTI Fremont for several years. I started seeing Kirsten initially for back issues related to stenosis and she was a great help to me.A few years later I developed knee problems and when my doctor prescribed PT I did not hesitate to make an appointment with Kirsten. She worked with me for months but my knee joint continued to deteriorate and eventually needed a total replacement. Unfortunately the surgery did not go well and I developed arthrofibrosis. This resulted in me working with Kirsten for the next year and a half to regain knee flexion. Kirsten has been a huge help in getting me through this trauma not just with the PT but helping to encourage me and keep positive. I’ve often said she provided as much psychotherapy as physical therapy. Over this extended period of PT I have had the opportunity to work with several other therapists in the Fremont office and they have all been great. I highly recommend MTI F

"I always get great care and information at MTI."

Kristen is great! I always get great care and information at MTI. I like getting my program at home so I can do my exercises on my schedule.

- Neva B

I went to MTI in Fremont for PT to help deal with back pain and work on avoiding falls. Great care in a compact space, effectively arranged. It was also near my home and had convenient parking.

"Her knowledge, intuition, and expertise are exceptional!!"

I highly recommend MTI and Kirsten Eivers. All the staff are respectful and timely in communicating. Kirsten is amazing in treating all my needs from post-knee surgery to post-wrist surgery. Her knowledge, intuition, and expertise are exceptional!!

"Kirsten is a joy to work with."

MTI Physical Therapy is a wonderful place! I had my first experience with physical therapy there a few years ago when I broke my fibula. The PT who helped me was extremely competent, respectful, knowledgeable, and fun. More recently, I’ve begun working with Kirsten Eivers, DPT, to empower me to do whatever I can on my own to alleviate lower back, hip, and sacral pain. I chose Kirsten after reading her bio, which includes work she did for the Red Cross to help rehabilitate soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Needless to say, I figured that anyone who could and would do that—including the deep moral imperative of service implied by that work—would be someone who could help me with comparatively minor physical challenges. Kirsten is a joy to work with. She clearly believes in your body’s ability to heal itself as long as you get the right support and encouragement (both of which she offers generously). Kirsten is really smart while remaining humble, and very focused while keeping her eye on the “big picture” goals. Give MTI a try next time you need physical therapy, and give them my best!

"I highly recommend MTI and their PT professionals."

I’ve been a patient on several occasions of MTI and have always found the staff incredibly helpful. In every instance, whatever the injury—neck, knee, or back—I’ve come away significantly better than when I started PT. Recently, I’ve had an issue with my left knee. Kirsten has been my therapist. I cannot say enough good things about her. Some of the things I value most about her treatment are the fact that (1) she listens carefully; (2) she’s helped me understand my injury and how the pain might affect, and be affected by, other parts of my body; (3) she’s helped me sort through the various options for treatment that have been suggested by a variety of providers, and (4) she tailors exercises that are doable and meet my needs. She is knowledgeable, caring and a joy to work with. I highly recommend MTI and their PT professionals.

About Kirsten Eivers

Kirsten has been treating patients at MTI Physical Therapy’s Fremont clinic since returning to Seattle in 2016. Prior to that, she lived in various places around the country and the world for the previous 15 years. She graduated from Pepperdine University (2004) with a degree in Political Science and a Masters in International Relations from the University of Oklahoma (2009) while living in Germany.

She rediscovered her passion for rehabilitation during her stint working for the American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces in Iraq (2010) and Afghanistan (2011). Her experience volunteering at a military field hospital and assisting with aeromedical evacuations in Afghanistan ignited her desire to be involved in the healing professions and prompted her to entry to physical therapy school. Kirsten graduated from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2016 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She completed her Residency and Fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Therapy through the Ola Grimsby Institute (OGI) in 2018. Now she enjoys passing on her advanced orthopedic manual therapy education to aspiring PT students as a clinical instructor. She currently serves MTI as the Site Coordinator for Clinical Education for MTI’s 7 locations.

Kirsten grew up riding horses and playing volleyball, basketball and softball in high school. Now, years later with aches and pains of her own, she enjoys helping adults across the age spectrum restore their physical function and realize freedom of movement. As a physical therapist she loves anatomy, kinesiology, movement analysis and educating patients on pain neuroscience. She values this profession for the unique relationship that develops between patient and clinician.

As a Pacific Northwest native, she loves living with both water and mountains in her backyard. In her spare time Kirsten loves to travel, be in the sunshine, and go on adventures with her husband and dog, Charlie. She teaches indoor cycling at a local gym and enjoys rowing, yoga, outdoor cycling and hiking.
