About Kirsten Eivers
Kirsten has been treating patients at MTI Physical Therapy’s Fremont clinic since returning to Seattle in 2016. Prior to that, she lived in various places around the country and the world for the previous 15 years. She graduated from Pepperdine University (2004) with a degree in Political Science and a Masters in International Relations from the University of Oklahoma (2009) while living in Germany.
She rediscovered her passion for rehabilitation during her stint working for the American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces in Iraq (2010) and Afghanistan (2011). Her experience volunteering at a military field hospital and assisting with aeromedical evacuations in Afghanistan ignited her desire to be involved in the healing professions and prompted her to entry to physical therapy school. Kirsten graduated from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2016 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She completed her Residency and Fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Therapy through the Ola Grimsby Institute (OGI) in 2018. Now she enjoys passing on her advanced orthopedic manual therapy education to aspiring PT students as a clinical instructor. She currently serves MTI as the Site Coordinator for Clinical Education for MTI’s 7 locations.
Kirsten grew up riding horses and playing volleyball, basketball and softball in high school. Now, years later with aches and pains of her own, she enjoys helping adults across the age spectrum restore their physical function and realize freedom of movement. As a physical therapist she loves anatomy, kinesiology, movement analysis and educating patients on pain neuroscience. She values this profession for the unique relationship that develops between patient and clinician.
As a Pacific Northwest native, she loves living with both water and mountains in her backyard. In her spare time Kirsten loves to travel, be in the sunshine, and go on adventures with her husband and dog, Charlie. She teaches indoor cycling at a local gym and enjoys rowing, yoga, outdoor cycling and hiking.
