eVisits / Telehealth

MTI Physical Therapy is excited to introduce eVisits, a new version of our physical therapy service.

eVisits, also referred to as Telehealth visits, provides a way for an established patient under the care of one of our physical therapists to continue their care when they can not physically come into the clinic. As you are no doubt aware, breaks in treatment can result in not only a lack of forward progress in your recovery, but can also contribute to unwanted setbacks. When care is medically necessary, it is vital that you are able to stay invested and involved in the treatment plan you and your MTI therapist have developed even when you are not able to physically come into the clinic.

What Are eVisits?

eVisits are virtual appointments using a secure online platform, which will allow you to maintain your connection to your physical therapist, should you not be able to physically be in the clinic. For example, during the COVID-19 pandemic when the risk may be too high to access in-person care, eVisits with your clinician can allow you to maintain that important connection. You can ask your therapist questions about your condition, perform your current exercises in order to get valuable feedback, learn new exercises and self-care principles/techniques that will allow you to not only maintain the gains you have made in treatment, but to also advance your recovery, progress your exercises and perhaps get that much-needed dose of encouragement that only your MTI therapist can provide.

Who Could Benefit from eVisits?

If you are an established patient who cannot currently come into an MTI clinic for treatment, you might be a good candidate for an eVisit. Simply email your therapist to explore the possibility of scheduling an eVisit.

How does it work?

The process is simple as the platform we are using is the same one you are already using to access your home exercise videos – Medbridge or the Medbridge Go App. You just need a device (desktop, laptop, tablet or smart phone), with built in audio / video capability, a secure network connection to protect your privacy and a Medbridge account. If you don’t already have a Medbridge account, one can be easily set up for you.

What Are the Next Steps?

If you are no longer able to come in for an in-clinic appointment and are interested in discussing the possibility of scheduling an eVisit, contact your therapist via email, or by contacting the front desk at your MTI clinic. Once you have an appointment, your therapist will send you an email with detailed instructions, as well as the Informed Consent information.
