What Patients Think About Karyn Schultz

"Everytime after seeing Karyn my back/leg felt much better"

Karyn is amazing!!! I was pregnant with severe back pain and numb leg (felt paralyzed). Was not able to sleep, walk or sit comfortably and no amount of Tylenol helped. After the first session with Karyn, I learnt how to walk, sleep and sit properly and saw a huge improvement on my lower back pain. She is so thorough in explaining every exercise she assigned me to do at home and is super patient with our questions . Everytime after seeing Karyn my back/leg felt much better and now I feel completely normally. Thank you Karyn for making my pregnancy experience so much better, your work is magical!

"I cannot recommend her enough. "

To say that I’ve had an exceptional experience with Karyn at MTI is a major understatement. Not only is Karyn a knowledgeable and thorough PT who has helped me understand and improve my pelvic floor health following my first child’s delivery, she’s also an incredibly compassionate and kind care professional. She has an acute understanding of how the mind and the body are connected and need to be treated together, and she’s really taught me so much about myself. I cannot recommend her enough. If you need pelvic health support, look no further!

"I recommend it to ALL my mom friends"

I’ve had the great fortune of working with Karyn Schultz at Pelvic Health and Performance Center this year. She is incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, encouraging and kind. I have learned so much from her through the treatment process and I would recommend her to anyone looking for pelvic rehabilitation. PHPC is a warm and welcoming center, clean and quiet. You can tell that a lot of care, intention, dedication and attention to the “patient as a whole person” has gone into creating this holistic center. I recommend it to ALL my mom friends and folks looking for quality care and pelvic rehab in the area!

About Karyn Schultz

Karyn Schultz graduated with a B.A. in Biology from Carroll College in Helena, Montana in 2009 and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 2013. After graduation, Karyn began working with MTI Physical Therapy where she honed her orthopedic and manual therapy skills through the Ola Grimsby Institute (OGI) residency and fellowship programs. Over the next six years, she spent time living in Montana and other parts of Washington where her clinical practice began to gravitate away from traditional orthopedic physical therapy and more toward pelvic health and the treatment of the whole person.

Her own experience with pregnancy and raising a newborn during the first year of the pandemic has deepened her empathy for the many complexities and challenges that parents may face. As a clinician, she is highly attuned to the immense emotional, mental, and physical stressors that can impact a person as they navigate their way through the pregnancy and postpartum periods.

Karyn has a firm belief that as a pelvic health physical therapist the body needs to be assessed as a whole, not just from within the confines of the pelvis; you will rarely find her giving Kegels as homework! She believes in the importance of being attentive to a patient’s unique pelvic health and fitness goals, while respecting whatever barriers or trauma the patient brings to each session without shame or guilt.

She has a special interest in treating all aspects of pelvic health dysfunction in the prenatal, postpartum, and perimenopausal body. Karyn also treats men or those with male genitalia, who are experiencing pelvic pain as well as sexual health, urinary and bowel movement dysfunction.

Outside of the clinic, she spends her time keeping up with two toddlers, trying to exercise, learning Pacific Northwest gardening, and finding herself again outside of parenthood.
