Bill Hayner

Bill received his Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Vermont in 2000. Upon graduation, he practiced for more than a year in an outpatient orthopaedic clinic in upstate Vermont. Bill subsequently joined MTI Physical Therapy in August of 2002 after moving to Seattle.

From 2002 to 2005, he completed the Ola Grimsby Institute’s (OGI) intensive Manual Therapy certificate residency and fellowship program, earning his Doctor of Manual Therapy degree. He followed that with a one-year exercise science certification from OGI in 2007.

He served as a seminar and residency instructor, as well as clinical mentor and faculty chair for the OGI from 2007 through 2020. Bill has developed a seminar series for educating physical therapists, physical therapist assistants and athletic trainers in exercise progressions for all joints. Since 2021, he has been serving as a lead instructor for MTI Physical Therapy’s Sports Physical Therapy residency program.

Bill is passionate about teaching and mentoring as it helps to hone the skills and knowledge of his students as well as advance the art and science of physical therapy. Beyond teaching, he has also been involved in writing and editing a professional textbook focused on therapeutic exercise progressions for musculoskeletal and neuromuscular disorders.

Bill currently treats patients in our Magnolia clinic and is involved in clinical development and education for the entire company. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his two children, alpine skiing, paddle-boarding and hiking in the mountains of Washington.
