About Ryker Penner

Ryker grew up in Bonney Lake, Washington, but attended the University of Findlay in Ohio for six years. During Ryker’s time there, he received his Doctor of Physical Therapy, as well as played four years of collegiate soccer. Ryker has experience with coaching youth soccer and also worked with younger athletes on a volunteer basis to help them learn to not only play the sport, but also to become admirable teammates and people.

His love for sports and his background in collegiate athletics helped spark his interest in joining MTI Physical Therapy and enrolling in MTI’s Sports Residency program. Ryker’s experience as a collegiate athlete led to his understanding of the importance of teamwork, clear communication, and principles of strength and conditioning, all of which help shape his holistic approach to patient care.

Ryker is very excited to be back in the PNW! He loves the nature and scenery in the area, in addition to all of the recreational activities that the PNW offers, such as skiing and backpacking. The youngest of 4 kids, he is also happy to be back in the same area as his family and many of the friends that he grew up with.

A fun fact about Ryker is that he enjoys an active lifestyle and has summited two of the five volcanoes in Washington State; he hopes to summit the remaining three volcanoes in the near future. Ryker also hopes to continue to further his education by pursuing a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) accreditation, as well as becoming a Board-Certified Sports Specialist in Physical Therapy.
