Marissa received her Bachelors of Rehabilitation Science from Northeastern University in 2010 and then completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2011. After graduation, Marissa has worked in a wide variety of settings, including inpatient hospitals, outpatient facilities, skilled nursing facilities and transitional care units. Marissa joined MTI in June of 2018 as a staff Physical Therapist. She also works in a skilled nursing facility where she runs the outpatient department. She enjoys the diversity of her patients and the opportunity to use the different parts of her knowledge base while working with her patients. Marissa also completed the Ola Grimsby Institute’s (OGI) Orthopedic Manual Therapy Fellowship training in 2019.
Marissa draws on her past training as a karate instructor to help communicate with patients about movement impairments and enjoys incorporating yoga-based movements and poses into her work with patients.
In her free time, Marissa is an avid mountain biker, hiker, skier and attempts to practice aerial yoga and gardening.
