Marissa received her Bachelors of Rehabilitation Science, from Northeastern University in 2010 and then completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2011. After graduation, Marissa worked in a wide variety of settings, including inpatient hospitals, outpatient facilities, skilled nursing facilities and transitional care units. Marissa joined MTI in June of 2018 as a staff Physical Therapist. She also continues to do inpatient work in a skilled nursing facility where she runs the outpatient department. She enjoys the diversity of her patients and the ability to utilize different parts of her knowledge-base in her practice. Last year, Marissa completed the intensive Ola Grimsby Institute’s (OGI) Manual Therapy Fellowship training and became a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy in 2019.

Marissa continues to challenge herself by expandng her medical knowledge base in post-concussion training. She finds that her background gives her more experience in the pathophysiological, psychosocial and medical side of treatment. Her recent Fellowship training also rounds out her exercise physiology and manual therapy skills base.

In her free time, Marissa is an avid mountain biker, hiker, skier and attempts to practice aerial yoga and gardening.
