About Private: Christine Taylor
Christine graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) with a science degree in Biopsychology in 1995 — she spent several years working as a Physical Therapy Aide while pursing her undergraduate degree. Being a competitive swimmer, she appreciated the value and skill of physical training to maximize performance. She then moved to the Netherlands in order to attend the Physiotherapy graduate program at the Hanzehogeschool van Groningen University. She graduated from this professional school in 1999 and was able to move to the US to begin her career in Physical Therapy.
While working in the field, Christine completed the post-graduate Level 3 training through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy in Oregon. She continued her education with Yoga, Pilates and Feldenkrais trainings in order to apply these skills to her treatment model of functional body mechanics education. This well-rounded approach to injury prevention and treatment allows for a local and global approach to recovery. Christine also believes that it is important to always consider her patient’s personal goals, and provide them with independent tools for personal success in short-term recovery and long-term injury prevention.
As a proud mom of two, Christine has used this treatment approach for personal successes and for sharing information with many parents in the community. For the past 12 years, Christine has been a regular volunteer guest speaker at the Evergreen Hospital Parent/Baby classes. While there, she is able to share body mechanics and exercise information with new moms and dads, as well as provide injury screening and recommendations to address any concerns. Over the years, patients and parents have reported back that this education and exercise training approach has not only been different from other methods, but has also been a success story!
