What Patients Think About John Bernhardt

"I had a very sudden onset shoulder pain hit me at the worst possible time, right before a dance performance and I was really worried because I didn't know what was wrong. From the moment I walked into the clinic, the entire team exuded warmth and professionalism, making me feel welcome and at ease. I worked with John, who always took the time to thoroughly assess my concerns, attentively listening to my specific issues and helped me find workarounds when needed. When I left my very first session, I remember walking back to my car and suddenly I felt a wave of relaxation wash down my neck and shoulders and down my back, which I can only describe as blissful. I can't express enough how grateful I am for John's expertise, his skillful techniques seemed to unlock tension and tightness that I had been carrying for far too long and helped me strengthen muscles I'd never felt before. I think my posture is even better (less tech neck) I always looked forward to sessions. I would highly recommend!! Thank you John!"

What Patients Think About John Bernhardt

“My experience at MTI has been very positive. I came to them with severe neck pain and limited mobility. John Bernhardt is friendly and easy to work with. With his guidance, I have worked through almost all of my neck issues. I will continue to visit John at MTI periodically to ensure I stay on track with my recovery. If you are looking for a good physical therapist, I strongly recommend John and the team at MTI.”

What Patients Think About John Bernhardt

"My Physical Therapist is absolutely the most friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, timely and in my opinion, the BEST therapist there is! I have been to two other therapists (at other companies), so I do have others to compare him to. Guess what? There is no comparison – he is super great!!"

About John Bernhardt

John has been with MTI since 2017. He received his specialization in orthopedic manual therapy through the Ola Grimsby Institute (OGI), and is now also a Fellow with the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists after completing OGI’s Fellowship program. He earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, VA.

A native of the DC area, John developed his passion for physical therapy at an early age after receiving physical therapy for a variety of sports related injuries. The manual techniques his therapists used on him, led to a speedy return to the playing field. John is passionate about helping others eliminate their pain and return to the activities they love. His favorite body parts to treat include the spine, shoulders and knees.

Outside of the clinic, he enjoys the outdoors, and loves exploring new hikes in the Pacific Northwest. His ideal trip involves backpacking with friends in areas like Leavenworth, along the I-90 corridor or attempting to summit a prominent peak. He is passionate about helping others train for their ideal outdoor adventures through education, exercise and manual therapy treatments.
