Rett Nicolai

Rett Nicolai , PT, DPT, FAAOMPT

Rett began working for MTI Physical Therapy in 2006 after enjoying an outstanding internship at one of the clinics. He graduated from the University of Washington with his graduate focus on gait mechanics and analysis. Since then, he has pursued advancements in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy, including a residency, fellowship and finished his PhD with the Ola Grimsby Institute. He emphasizes individual rehabilitation programs for recreational and competitive athletes, as well as the desk jockey and less active individual. You must be able to break down an activity into small components in order to retrain your body as a whole. Functional movements, balance training and dynamic abilities are incorporated to restore patients to their previous levels of function and getting their energy back up. An entire systems review is necessary during an evaluation to assess how the body’s parts are functioning as a whole.

Getting his patients back on track and providing guidance for future improvements, demonstrates his enthusiasm for helping runners and walkers resume their goals. Since working at a local running store, he gained knowledge of various shoes that he combines with your gait mechanics to successfully fit the appropriate shoe for running, walking, or work.

Rett’s personal interests include marathons and running, kayaking, hiking, snowshoeing, and cooking (and eating).
