Corissa Wennerlind

Corissa Wennerlind , PT, DPT

Corissa’s fascination with human anatomy and the science of movement began when she was a ballet dancer at the Pacific Northwest Ballet School. She performed in the Nutcracker and various other shows for 10 seasons and attended summer programs at multiple ballet companies including the Boston Ballet School. During this time, she recognized and depended on effective physical therapy treatment. Her interaction with physical therapists inspired her to pursue a career in a field that helps athletes, at all levels, return to their activities of choice and improve their quality of life.

Corissa attended the University of Washington for her undergraduate degree where she majored in biology and interned at the UW Athletic Training Center. During that time, she also taught core strengthening and stretching classes at the University District YMCA.

Deciding to venture out of Washington, she chose to attend the University of Southern California for her Doctor of Physical Therapy studies. Corissa received her Doctorate from USC in May of 2016. After living in Los Angeles for 3 years, she returned home to the Seattle area and began her career as a licensed physical therapist at MTI Physical Therapy in August of 2016. In 2017, Corissa will begin the Ola Grimsby Institute residency and fellowship program to obtain a Doctor of Manual Therapy certificate.

When Corissa is not in the clinic, you will find her in exercise classes such as Pilates, boot camp, dance, or cycling. On weekends, she enjoys spending time with friends and family at Mariners and Husky games, as well as hiking and engaging in other outdoor activities.
